Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Bachelor of education (B.Ed) course help the people to become high school teachers. Nowadays there are many B.Ed Colleges in Kerala and outside the state. There are Government, aided and unaided Colleges in this field. Teaching is a honorable vocation. This courses help to make best teachers ourselves. The syllabus and curriculum of B.Ed degree is different in different universities. But there are some compulsory papers in this course like education psychology, some aspects of philosophy, educational technology, information technology, pedagogy, methodology etc.... The B.Ed institutions offers educational degree in various options like physical science, natural science, mathematics, social science, hindi, malayalam, english, sanskrit etc...

The minimum qualification to join in B.Ed course is Bachelor's degree. The B.com and BSc computer science students should complete their post graduation to do B.Ed. There is mark bar to get a seat for B.Ed degree. Now the duration of this course is 1 year in the universities of Kerala state. But the Government had declared that the duration of the B.Ed course will increase to 2 years from 2014-2015 academic year. Now the B.Ed course is 1 year, semester programme. Every year many teachers are coming from many B.Ed Colleges, through out Kerala. Those who wish to write the competitive tests like K-TET and SET should do their B.Ed degree.

Nobody should look the B.Ed degree as a mere way to teaching field. From this degree course one should absorb the qualities of a teacher and should mould their innate teaching capabilities. For this you get the help of many good B.Ed Colleges. The Colleges help the student teachers to develop their personality and teaching skills. The B.Ed candidates should take care about the selection of good B.Ed training centres. 

The B.Ed fee structure is different in different universities. In the Government Colleges there is affordable fee structure. But the students should have high marks in qualifying examination to get admission in Government B.Ed centres. The unaided, self financing B.Ed centres offers the B.Ed degree at a fee rate above 30,000 Rs. When the duration of B.Ed course increase, the fee structure also change. So the candidates who have great desire to take a B.Ed degree in a short period should seek admission in best colleges in the next academic year.
