Lower Division Clerk (LDC) post is called the IAS of common man. So many people are trying to achieve a good place in the LDC rank list with a best mark. After a standard level of education all the youth are trying to send applications for the KPSC exams like LD Clerk and join for coaching classes to attain better result. In this article I am trying to give whole details about the LDC exam which is conducting by PSC in Kerala.

LD Clerk exam details:

The examination for LDC post of various departments of Kerala government is conducting by Kerala PSC at a particular interval. The last LDC exam was held in 2013-2014. Usually PSC publishing new notification for LD Clerk test through the online KPSC website and through other important media before ending the validity of the existing rank list. As the new system of Kerala PSC the exam date would publish with the notification of the test.

LDC Qualification:

The people who passed the SSLC and equivalent examination can apply for the LD Clerk examination PSC is thinking to increase the qualification as plus two pass. But now there is no decision on that.

Notification from PSC:

Kerala Public Service Commission will publish the notification for the new LDC exam through the KPSC site. The exam date, last date for application etc will be in the notification.

How to apply for LDC exam:

All the candidates should complete the onetime registration process in the PSC website before submitting their application for writing the LDC exam. One can easily make a profile in the onetime registration. After it click on the link 'notifications' and check for the LDC notification. Click on the LDC link and press on apply button. You can submit the application through very simple steps.

Syllabus details:

In the LDC exam PSC asking the questions mainly from the school syllabus up to class 10. The syllabus includes the following topics.
  1. General Knowledge: World History, Facts about India, Facts about Kerala, Geography, Cinema, Literature, Awards, Sports.....
  2. Current Affairs: Main news of the recent period.
  3. General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  4. Mathematics: Simple Arithmetic and Mental Ability
  5. General English: Grammar and Vocabulary
  6. Malayalam: Grammar, Literature, Vocabulary
The LDC question paper will include the questions from the above topics.

LD Clerk Question Paper:

The question paper would prepare by the experts in different fields. It will be different for different districts. It includes 100 questions and each carry 1 mark. There will be four options for each questions and the candidate can opt his answer from those. The right answer will get 1 mark and the wrong one will lose 0.33 marks with its one mark. There is no compulsion for attending full questions.

How to write the LDC examination:

The candidate should download the LDC hall ticket from the KPSC site through the one time profile and take a print out of it. It should submit before the invigilator in the exam hall. He will get an OMR sheet for answer the questions. Before starting the answering some information like the name of the test, date of test, date of birth of the candidate, register number of the candidate ... should bubble and write on the proper place in the OMR sheet. Start the exam on time Concentrate both on the questions and options and bubble the right answer. Use black / blue ball point pen for answering. Obey the instructions from the PSC. After the exam time the invigilator will collect the answer sheets on time.

How to get answer key:

The answer key of the LDC exam will publish by different private website soon after the completion of test. But the official key from the PSC will come in the PSC site within 2-3 days after the test. Candidates can examine the answers and compare with their answers. If there are any complaints they can send the complaints to the PSC. After checking the complaints PSC will publish the final answer key. With the help of this candidates can finalize their mark in the LD Clerk exam.

Cut Off Mark determination:

For each PSC exam the cut off mark will decide by considering the future vacancies and the level of toughness of the question paper. The candidates who achieved the mark above the cut off mark will be including in the LDC main list.

Probability list and Rank list:

PSC will publish the LDC probability list and rank list in the website soon after the valuation of the answer sheets. The probability list will come first and it includes the register numbers of the candidates who have the chance for getting in the rank list based on their mark. After the publishing of the probability list there is a certificate verification process. If the officers from the PSC will find out any problem with the qualification and any other area the candidate will get out of the list. Then the rank list will publish. It has 2 parts. Main list and the supplementary list. Main list includes the candidates who had got the mark above the cut off mark in the LDC exam. and the supplementary list is for the backward candidates who attained the nearest marks to the cut off.

Advice and Appointment:

The listed candidates will get the advice memo from the PSC according to the rotation chart for the LDC.The advised rank holders will get the appointment as the Lower Division Clerk in any government department in their district within 3 months from the advice .

Preparation and Coaching to attain high rank:

The candidates who are going to apply for the LDC test conduct by the KPSC should spend their time for thorough preparation and better coaching. If there is hard work for the high rank, any of them will be yours. Read the news papers, rank files, text books... for preparation. There are so many coaching centers in Kerala for preparing the candidates for achieving high rank in the PSC exams. Join in one among them and utilize the coaching in better sense. candidates should study the previous LDC question papers and answers.
